 P-touch Editor is an application that gives you a wide variety of designing possibilities for creating labels and stamps.

 This file contains additional information on the use of P-touch Editor. For details on the various operations, click [P-touch Editor Help] on the [Help] menu.


 Installation
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Installing all P-touch Editor options requires approximately 50 MB of available hard disk space on the drive where Windows(R) is installed and approximately 50 MB of available hard disk space on the drive where P-touch Editor will be installed. Depending on the hard disk drive, the amount of available hard disk space that is required differs due to differences in the size of 1 cluster when the hard disk was formatted. Therefore, be sure that there is approximately 100 MB of available hard disk space before installing P-touch Editor.

* In order to install P-touch Editor onto Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000, XP, 2003 or Vista, you must log on with Administrator privileges.

* Before performing the installation, quit all running or background applications.

* Use the P-touch Editor installer or the printer driver installer to install the printer driver; do not use the Add Printer Wizard in the Printers folder of Control Panel.

* After P-touch Editor is installed, be sure to restart the computer when instructed. In addition, after the computer is restarted, be sure to log on with the same user name that was used when the application was installed.

* In order to sort data in a database, Service Pack 1 or later is required with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000. Use Windows Update to upgrade to Service Pack 1 or later.



 Installation Procedure
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Insert the installation disk into the computer's CD-ROM drive. The Brother Setup dialog box will automatically appear. Follow the instructions in the dialog boxes that appear to finish the installation.


 Uninstallation
---------------------------------------------------------------------
  The Uninstall operation will remove P-touch Editor from the hard disk drive where it was installed.

* If the application is running when it is uninstalled, some files may not be removed. Quit the application before uninstalling it.


 Uninstallation Procedure
---------------------------------------------------------------------
* Click the Add/Remove Programs icon in Control Panel (Add or Remove Programs icon in Windows(R) XP), select "Brother P-touch Editor 5.0" in the dialog box that appeared, and then click the Remove button.

* In order to uninstall P-touch Editor from Microsoft(R) Windows(R) 2000, XP, 2003 or Vista, you must log on with Administrator privileges.


 Precautions
---------------------------------------------------------------------
 Observe the following precautions when using P-touch Editor.

* Do not delete installed files, change file names or change folder names, otherwise some functions will no longer be available.
